Whereas Thomas Hunnicutt of Goochland County and Isabella Ladd daughter of James + Isabella Ladd dec’d of Charles City County having declared their intention of taking each other in Marriage before several monthly meetings of friends, held at Waynoka in Charles City County aforesaid, and their proceeding therein being approved. They appearing clear of all other marriage engagements, + having the consent of parties + friend concerned. Now these are to certify all whom it may concern that for the full accomplishment of their said intentions they the said Thomas Hunnicutt + Isabella Ladd, appeared in a public meeting of Friends and others held at Waynoka the fifth day of the eleventh month, in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred + Eleven and he the said Thomas Hunnicutt taking the said Isabella Ladd by her hand did openly in a Solemn manner declare as follows. “In the presence of the Afsembly I take Isabella Ladd to be my wife, promising with Divine Afsistance to be unto her a faithful and loving Husband until death.” Or word to the same effect. And she the said Isabella Ladd, did likewise declare as follows. “In the presence of the Afsembly I take Thomas Hunnicutt to be my husband, promising with Divine Afsistance to be unto him a faithful and loving wife until death.” or word of the same impart. And the said Thomas Hunnicutt and Isabella [Ladd] now his wife, as a further confirmation of their said marriage, did then and there to these presents set their names, she according to custom afsuming the name of her husband. And we whose names are hereunto Subscribed being present at the Solemnization of the said marriage + subscription have as Witnefses thereof here unto set our names the day and year above written.
