The petition of W A Sellers shows this court
I. That M. E. Sellers a citizen of Chesterfield County and State of South Carolina died intestate on 23rd of Sept 1898 leaving a small personal estate amounting to about Fifty dollars which Administration will be necessary in order that the same may be settled.
II.That your petitioner is her son and prays that letters of Administration be granted him and he will ever pray &c

Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Hurst was the wife of Samuel Joseph Sellers. They were married about 1857. To this marriage was born twelve children, 5 sons and 7 daughters. Samuel died in July 1887 and Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” died 23 Sept 1898. They are buried in the Hurst Cemetery, Chesterfield, South Carolina.
