Thomas Alton Rivers served his country during the Korean War (25 June 1950 – 27 July 1953). Thomas Alton Rivers, b. 31 Dec 1929, was a son of Thomas Luther Rivers and Eva Pigg.[2]
Thomas enlisted into the Army on 28 Jun 1948 as an Artillery mechanic. He served in the Infantry in South Korea. On 11 September 1950, Corporal Thomas Rivers was seriously wounded by a missile. He was evacuated from the war zone and given a disability release on 31 Oct 1951 from the military. [3]
Thomas married Bobbie J. Knight, daughter of Woodrow and Edith Watts Knight. They had two known sons.
Thomas Alton Rivers is my 4th cousin once removed.
