Charles Riley Brock, Jr. was born 16 November 1927 a son of Charles Riley Brock, Sr. and Henrietta Florence Pate.2
The National Archives Archival database show that Charles Riley Brock, Jr. enlisted into the US Army Air Corps on 9 February 1946. 3 He was 18 years, 2 months and 24 days old.
The FindAGrave Memorial for Charles Riley Brock, Jr shows that he served in Korea with the United States Air Force with the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSgt.). Remember that there was no US Air Force at the time of his enlistment into the Army Air Corp. The birth of the Air Force took place on 18 September 1947. 4
There is no doubt that in an effort to build up the new Air Force, Charles Riley was among those chosen or that volunteered to transition into the United States Air Force.
Charles Riley Brock, Jr. died 3 July 1995 in Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina at age of 67. he was buried in Grandview Memorial Park, Rock Hill, York County, South Carolina.
Charles Riley Brock, Jr. is my 1st cousin once removed.
