Chesterfield County SC Estates~Estate Folder #212–Isaac Hurst, Jr.



This is a new series of posting, appearing every Sunday, on selected Estate Folders from the Estate files of Chesterfield County. No known estates exist for the period before the Civil War. They were destroyed with the burning of the Courthouse. There are a few “Equity Records” in the State Archives. Do not overlook this valuable resources if you are looking for ancestors in Chesterfield County, South Carolina.

This estate folder begins at image #1302 and ends with image #1306. (images 1302-1306)
Probate Folder 212 labeled Isaac Hurst is the probate file of Isaac Hurst, Jr. son of Isaac Hurst and Henrietta Rivers. Isaac Hurst Jr. was born 15 January 1837 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina.
 
Isaac was wounded at Secessionville, James Island, SC on 15 June 1862 and died at home. His tombstone, in the Hurst Family Cemetery, shows that he died on 2 July 1862 never recovering from his wounds.

Probate Folder #212:
His probate folder consists of 5 pages including the cover page. The other 4 pages contains a list of personal items owned by Isaac and the buyers at his estate auction/liquidation. His personal items were all purchased by close and extended family members.
