Chesterfield County SC Estates~Estate Folder #983~Margaret ‘Maggie’ Hurst Watson

Each week, on Sunday, I will select an Estate Folder from the Estate files of Chesterfield County and discuss its contents. No known estates exist for the period before the Civil War. They were destroyed by the burning of the Courthouse. There are a few “Equity Records” in the State Archives. Do not overlook this valuable resource if you are looking for ancestors in Chesterfield County, South Carolina.

On 24 May 1910, Margaret “Maggie” Hurst Watson passed away. Her husband, Thomas Henry Watson had passed away almost 6 years earlier on 16 September 1904. Their deaths left nine surviving adult sons and daughters.

Her estate file (#983) consists of 4 images all related to the administrative paperwork related to the probate process.
