George Dry was born 16 Jan 1805 in Kentucky, a son of George Dry and Anna Maria Phifer. He married Rowena last name unknown. To this union were born 9 children; 3 daughters and 6 sons.
His tombstone shows that George Dry died on 10 Feb 1867 at the age of 62. He died intestate and a Bond on his estate was issued on 25 February 1867.

Whereas, James J. Drye & John F. Drye has been appointed, by the County Court of Casey County, Administrators of George Drye deceased, intestate, NOW, we J. J. Drye & J. F. Drye Administrators and W. S. Drye and G. W. Drye sureties, do hereby covenant to and with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, that the said James J. Drye & John F. Drye will, well and truly adminster the goods, chattels, credits and effects of the said intestate, according to law, and will further make a just and true account of all their actings and doings therein; and will, well and truly make a proper distribution of any surplus money, effects, and rents, which may come to their hands, or to any one for them by color of their office, to the persons entitled thereto. If it shall hereafter appear that a last WILL and TESTAMENT was made by the deceased, and the same be proved and recorded, we further covenant that the said J. J. Drye & J. F. Drye will, in such case, surrender their letters of administration; and that they will account with, and pay and deliver over to the Execut___ or Administrat__ with the WILL annexed, the assets in their hands unadministrated.
