Today’s subject is an 1830 Land Conveyance Between Father and Son-Archibald Boan to Charles Boan.1

Chesterfield District}
Know men by these presents that I Archibald Boan of Chesterfield District in the state aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy dollars to me in hand paid by Charles Boan of Chesterfield district in the state aforesaid. I the said Archibald Boan have bargained sold and released and by their presence do grant bargain and sell and release unto the said Charles Boan all that tract or parcel of land containing fifty Acres of land situated in Chesterfield district lying and being on a branch of Bear Creek called the Horsepen branch bounded on all sides by vacant land granted by his excellency to Elisha Parker the 25th day of January 1785 unto the Elisha Parker and hath such forms and marks as the plat herewith delivered represents together with all and singular rights members hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in anywise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Charles Boan his heirs and assigns forever. I do hereby bind myself my heirs executors and Administrators to warrant and [for] ever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Charles Boan his heirs and afsigns against myself any heirs and against every other person who lawfully claim it-or to claim the same or any part thereof as Witnefs my hand and seal June 1st day 1830.

John Craig, Clk.} pages 9 + 10, which book was destroyed by Genl. Sherman’s Army.
