Amanuensis Monday~Mississippi Probate Records, Hector McNeill Estate, 1847.

Today’s subject is the Mississippi Probate Records, Hector McNeill Estate, 1847.1




State of Mississippi}
Carroll County} By The Probate Court of Said County
     Whereas Hector McNeil decease late of said County died intestate as we are informed leaving (illegible word??) he lived & at the time of his death divers goods debts rights & credits, within the State aforesaid and we being desiring that the said goods rights and credits may be well & truly administered and converted & disposed of do hereby grant unto James Parker full Power of the (illegible word?) of these present to administered the good & chattels rights and credits of Said deceased which to him in his life time & at the time of his death did belong to ask, levy, recover & receive the same, and pay the debts in which the deceased Stood bound so far as his said goods & rights, credits, land transactions & hereditaments will Extend according to the rate & the order of the law to make a perfect & just Inventory of said goods and chattels, rights & credits and the Lands to Exhibited in the Office of the clerk of this Court at or before the Expiration of three months from the date hereof and to render a Just account of the said administration when due unto legally required and Said James Parker his truly Ordained administrator of all and Singular the goods & chattels, rights & credits moneys & effects of the said deceased.

This is the only known document that mentions the death of Hector McNeill and proved that he died sometime before September 1847 in Carroll County, Mississippi.

Hector McNeill was born between 1791-1800, a son of John McNeill and Louisa Moultrie. He married Mariah W. Norwood of Darlington, South Carolina. He died before September 1847.
