Trust Sale: The Dwelling House of V. W. Brock


Trust Sale.
BY virtue of a deed of trust heretofore executed to me as Trustee by V. W.  Brock and Moses Brock to secure the payment, of certain notes therein described, due to Thos. B. Rixby senior dec'd has been duly recorded in the office of the Clerk, of the Probate court of Hinds County --I will on Saturday, the 25th April 1840 before the door of the court house of Hinds county, Miss. sell for cash the following described property, to wit: a lot of ground in the town of Utica upon which is now erected the dwelling house of him the said V. W. Brock, containing one quarter of an acre; also, the south half of the south west quarter of section fourteen, and the south half of the west half of the north west quarter, of section twenty-three; also south half of the west half of the north east quarter, and north half of the east half of the north west quarter of section fifteen; also, the north half of the west half of the north west quarter of section fifteen; also, the north half of the west half of the north west quarter of section twenty-three; also, west half of the south west  quarter of section fifteen,  all situated in Township 3, Range 4 West; with all appurtenaces unto said land belonging or in any way appertaining to the said V. W. Brock.

The Reverend Valentine William Brock was born about 1806 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina a son of William Brock and his wife Charlotte [LNU]. 

William and Charlotte took their family to Louisiana and Mississippi before November 1826. In November 1826, their son Valentine was received by experience into membership with the Silver Creek Baptist Church, Pike County, Mississippi. 

Valentine married Vashti Brooks on 12 October 1835 in Claiborne County, Mississippi. To this union was born 7 children; two which died very young. After the death of his wife Vashti on 6 March 1851  Valentine married Martha Conger Sims on 16 March 1852.
Valentine William Brock served as a Baptist Minister during his lifetime.

V. W. Brock and Moses Brock are brothers. A death date for Valentine William Brock has not been found. He was last enumerated in the 1870 census for Clinton Township, Hinds County, Mississippi.

The Reverend Valentine William Brock is my First Cousin 5 times removed.
