Tombstone Tuesday~Lavinia “Vicy” Sellers Hurst



Lavinia “Vicy” Sellers
was born 14 February 1828, a daughter of Elijah Sellers and Sarah Purvis. She was the oldest of six children borne to this union. She had 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
  

Sometime shortly after May 1860, Lavinia “Vicy” Sellers and William “Billy" Hurst were married. Records from this time period were destroyed during the Civil war. But we know the marriage took place after May 1860 bemuses Billy’s first wife, Nancy Rivers, did not pass away until May 1860. 

Billy and Vicy’s first child, a son, was born 30 October 1861. They had 8 children; 3 sons and 5 daughters.

Lavinia “Vicy” Sellers Hurst died 28 October 1898 and is buried in the Hurst cemetery.


Lavinia “Vicy” Sellers Hurst is my 1st Cousin 4X removed.
