Today’s subject is a Petition naming the Heirs at Law of Miles Hurst, November 1895.
From the Miles Hurst Estate Files, Folder #584, Chesterfield County Probate Office, Chesterfield, SC we have the following document naming the Heirs at Law of Miles Hurst at the time of his death. 

Heirs of Miles Hurst
 
The State of South Carolina} In Probate
Chesterfield County} Court
The petition of C. B. McNair respectfully submit and shows to this Court
1. That Miles Hurst late of the County and state aforesaid died intestate on 24th of November AD 1895 leaving as his heirs at law the following Luke Hurst- Martha Hurst- Mrs. Margurette Watson Mrs Elizabeth Sellers Mrs. Ann Hancock Mrs. Ellen Streater and Mrs. Albany McNair.
2. That the said intestate left considerable property and it is necessary for the proper and rightful settlement of said Estate that an Administrator should be appointed by this Court to administer upon the said Estate.
3. That your petitioner is the husband is the above named Albany McNair and as such he has an interest in said Estate.
4. That as far as this petitioner knows no one of the heirs at law have applied for letters of Administration upon said Estate.
Therefore your petitioner prays that this Court do grant him letters of Administration upon the said estate and will ever pray &c.
