Rankin County, Mississippi Administrators Bond, James Purvis, Sr., 1836

For the past 39 years I have researched the Purvis families of Anson County, NC and Chesterfield County, South Carolina.

One of my favorite means of research is collaborating with another researcher, generally by e-mail, in resolving and or documenting the lives of our ancestors.

Approximately, two years ago I connected with a researcher from Oklahoma that was a 3rd great granddaughter of Gilbert Purvis. For the next 6 or 8 months we shared data on the life of Gilbert Purvis, his family and his brothers.

Just recently, another researcher in South Carolina, Gary Purvis and I have been sharing data on John Purvis of Chesterfield South Carolina. Earlier  this week while browsing the probate minutes of Hinds County, Mississippi I found some new info on the estate of Gilbert Purvis and his family. Today, I woke up with an E-mail from Gary stating that he had found this Administrators Bond for the James Purvis, Sr. estate. This is a major find and I am eternally grateful  that Gary shared this document with me and now with all who reads this blog.
