Background:
Eugenia Dent, born September 1851 was the daughter of Ferdinand Hayes Claiborne Dent and Mary Adelaide Campbell.
Eugenia married Joseph D. Miller son of Joseph Edward Miller and Elizabeth Rose Campbell Purvis. Elizabeth Rose Campbell was the widow of James Purdee J. Purvis who passed away in 1836 while living in Hinds County, Mississippi.
Joseph had one brother, Robert Henry, that died in the Civil war. He also had three half siblings, children of James Purdee and Elizabeth Rose.
Eugenia and Joseph D. Miller were married in Rankin County, Mississippi. and to this union were born 8 children of which only two were living when she passed away in February 1951.
Joseph D. Miller died 18 December 1919 stomach ulcer and weak heart at his home on Roseland Plantation, Fairview, Louisiana. After Joseph died, Eugenia applied for a civil war pension on 7 January 1920 for her husband service with Company “F”, 1st Louisiana cavalry.
