Its Family Time~ William Bogan Deese
William Bogan Deese was born about 1837 a son of Samuel Deese and Sarah ‘Sallie’ Hill of Anson County, North Carolina. He was a farmer.
On 3 October 1861, at age 24, William Bogan Deese enlisted with Company B, North Carolina 31st Infantry Regiment.
DEESE, WILLIAM B., Private
Resided in Anson County where he enlisted at age 24, October 3, 1861. Died in hospital at Wilmington on or about September 3, 1863, of “pneumonia.”[North Carolina Troops, 1861-1865: A Roster, Volume 8, page 440]
He died in July 1863, at the age of 26, in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was enlisted by E. R. Liles for the duration of the War. It is not known where William Bogan Deese was buried.

William Bogan Deese is my Great Grand Uncle.
