Treasure Chest Thursday~Marriage of David W. Honeycutt and Mary M. Umsted

David W. Honeycutt, son of James Irvin Honeycutt and Sarah Barrier was born 3 March 1821.

On 3 February 1857, David W. Honeycutt, age 35, and Mary M. Umsted, age 21, were married by the Rev. L. C. Groseclose in Orange County, North Carolina.
Their only child, a daughter born 7 May 1858 died approximately 6 weeks after birth. In 1860, David and his wife Mary are living in the Household of the Rev. Levi Cook Grosseclose, a Lutheran Minister in Rowan County. 

Sadly, Mary M. Umsted Honeycutt also passed away 24 July 1863 in Cabarrus County.

In 1870, David W. is back home living with his parents, James and Sarah Honeycutt.

On 27 May 1877, David W. Honeycutt re-married. His new bride Caroline was almost 20 years his junior. In their 1880 household is David’s Mother Sarah Barrier Honeycutt and two Isenhour Nephews.

David W. Honeycutt, 82, passed away on 29 March 1903.
