It’s Family Time~The James Hildreth Family

Emeline Previtte, daughter of William Previte and his wife Catherine was born about 1837 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina 1

At age 23, Emeline married James Hildreth of Anson County, North Carolina.

James and Emeline firstborn child, a son, James Andrew was born 8 Mar 1859, in Anson County, North Carolina.

Then in March 1860, Emeline passed away after contracting Puerperal Fever. 2 3

This left James, a farmer, in a very delicate situation. It is unknown as to who cared for the child, James Andrew, during this time. But, we do know that James enlisted with Company I, 43rd NC Infantry "Anson Regulators" on 25 February 1862. James was captured and died on 21 Jan 1864 at a Hosp, Washington, DC. He is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina.

Emeline (Previtte) Hildreth is my 2nd Great Grand Aunt.
