So, let’s get started and look up a deed.

Our target is:
Find all HENDRICKS Deed for 1862-1900

Our First step is to ensure that under

Book Type – Deed is selected

Series – GRANTEE or GRANTOR is Selected

Index Books – Select 1862-1927 H-K

Next, we will click on “View Index” at the bottom left side of Home page and this page will pop up

This page tells you that all Hendricks Land Deeds begins in the Index Book on page 99.

We take that number (99) and return to the Index portal and type 99 in the Index Page block.

After entering 99 in the index page block; click on “VIEW INDEX” and this page will appear:

You now have a screen showing all listings for Hendricks Deed Book recorded in the Grantor or Grantee Index depending on which index you chose.

At the top of this page, just to the right of the first column, you will see the 99 between two arrows (<99>). This will allow you to move forward or backward in the Index Book.

For the purpose of this tutorial, we will select a deed between:

Margaret E. Hendricks to L. A. Terry al

The index tells us that this Deed is recorded in Deed Book 4 page 583

It’s dated 12 /31/[18]74 Filed 1/15/[18]75 and the land parcel was 157 acres on Thompson Creek.

To look at this deed we need the Book # and page #. Which are:

Book 4 Page 583

On this same page on the left side of your screen enter 4 in the Volume tab near the top of the left column and 583 in the page tab then click on view. Your deed will appear on the right side of your screen.
